Are wellness retreats worth it?

According to scientific research, spending time at a wellness retreat [2] can actually promote a healthier lifestyle long-term.

A study published by the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine [3] set out to answer this question, by tracking a number of different physical and mental health [4] markers in a group attending a 1-week wellness retreat. Assessments were made at the beginning of the retreat, at the end of their stay, and then once more 6 weeks after returning home.

What happens at a wellness resort?
