The MyPlate Video Search was formed to help educate and empower children (ages 2-18) about healthy eating and to promote healthy lifestyles following the Dietary Guidelines for Americans MyPlate food icon. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
In an effort to help encourage dietary changes in eating patterns for school-aged children and encourage healthy eating and lifestyles, a small group of MyPlate National Strategic Partners have joined together to fund this opportunity and award kids who can showcase they are practicing healthy eating and activities the MyPlate way. The Canned Food Alliance (CFA) is a consortium of steelmakers, can makers, food processors and affiliate members who have joined together to help increase consumption of canned foods, by communicating their many benefits, including nutrition, convenience, affordability, year-round availability and sustainability. As a National Strategic Partner of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, part of our mission is to ensure that kids are eating enough fruits, vegetables, beans and lean proteins to help meet the Dietary Guidelines for a Americans. For more than 13 years, Fresh Baby’s supported parents and caregivers with simple solutions to reducing a child’s risk of obesity by promoting the development of healthy eating habits from the first bites of food. The Check Out MyPlate Video Search is a fun way to get kids involved in showing off how they make healthy choices.
